Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Amabe Math capstone project ("we", "our", "the project", "the app") collects, uses, shares, and protects information from students of AMA Basic Education Quezon City (ages 13–15), their guardians, and teachers. It is written clearly for students and their families so you understand what data we handle and why.

• Teachers and school administrators

Information we collect

We collect only what is necessary for the learning activities and to run the project. Categories include:

• Student-provided information: student id or number, display name, grade level, and quiz performance in the app.
• Usage data: basic usage logs (pages viewed, time spent).
• Analytics: aggregate and anonymized analytics to measure feature usage and learning progress (these do not identify a student personally).

How we use the information

• Provide and personalize the learning experience outside classroom activities.
• Diagnose technical problems and improve app performance.

When we share data

We do not sell student data. We may share data in the following limited ways:

• With service providers who host the app (e.g., google play, firebase). These vendors are contractually required to keep data secure and use it only to provide services to us.
• When required by law, or to respond to valid legal requests.

Sensitive data and parental consent

We will not ask for or collect sensitive personal information (such as health records or detailed location).

Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encrypted connections and secure servers) to protect data from unauthorized access, alteration, or deletion. While we strive to keep data safe, no system is perfectly secure. If a security incident happens, we will notify the school and affected guardians as required.

Data retention

Student data are retained for the duration of the school year. If you need data removed, see the "Your rights" section below.

Your rights

• Access: Students and guardians may request a copy of the student’s data.
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• Deletion: Guardians can request deletion of a student account and related personal data. Some anonymized records required for student performance or accreditation may be retained as aggregate data.

Third-party services and cookies

The project may use third-party services (for example: authentication providers, or analytics). These services may use cookies or similar technologies. We aim to limit third-party data collection and to configure services so they do not collect more personal data than necessary. A list of major third-party services used (if any) will be provided on request.

How we communicate changes

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version here and create an in-app notification to inform users when changes are material to student privacy.
